I won't pretend to be the day 1 die hard everyone does when a celeb dies, but whenever Prince was on the radio I would listen and enjoy. I recognized the talent. This is the first celeb death I was actually bummed about.

Not a giant fan but he was insanely talented. Super bowl was amaze and his tribute at George Harrison rr hof 10 years ago or so was incredible.

Seemed like a good dude too, would show up at bars and play etc.

Anyone saying Prince was overrated is A) an idiot and B) just as attention whoring as the people pretending to be heartbroken that weren't fans. Feel free not to like him but you would have to choose to ignore his influence on modern music to deny it.

He was the best live act I ever saw. To me, his show felt like a party that you were invited to rather than a concert.

My coworker said Eric Johnson is his Uncle. I have no clue who that is, but apparently he's a "famous musician" and said Prince found him. He talked to Erik yesterday and Prince was suffering from a really bad flu. Since prince was a jehovah witness, he didn't take medicine, because they're against it. Over time, he pretty much died from the flu.

Also said, with all the ppl he's helped in the music biz, he accounts for over 1000 Grammy's.

Eric Johnson is a pretty good guitar player from Austin, but it's been a while since he was "famous". He had a successful album in the early 90's.

Sorry wacky but nearly, if not all of the things that aren't opinion in this post aren't true. Jehovah's Witnesses aren't forbidden from taking medicine. It's absolutely true that Prince wrote for other artists but for the most part those artists are far away from the Grammy's.
