If Roy hadn't bailed on KU to take a more prestigious job would they have won more than NCs Bill Self?  I don't think so, but I suppose one could argue.

In the last sixty-some years, there are something like 13 schools with as many or more Natty's than KU. It's a second tier program that is hard to win titles at, props to Self for getting one.

KU likely has a nice window and gets one if Hansbrough goes to KU with Roy there but Roy's (and Dean's) system always needed an overwhelming talent advantage to win a title.  Of the 3 UNC titles only the one in 93 vs the Fab 5 Michigan team did UNC not have a vastly superior roster and even that game has has the CWebb time out*.

How does KU feel knowing they went all-in on a sport whose national championship is now played on TBS?

Serious question:  Would they be better off putting all of their resources on baseball or women's basketball instead?  At least you get some ESPN exposure if you are good in those sports.

KU fans are shocked they're not the center of attention, like everyday of their lives. Roy really benefited by leaving. He's a freaking genius. Coming to the realization that you're not as big of a deal that you think you are nationally, must be a really tough pill to swallow.
