Actually, he seemed to take great joy in trolling our disgruntled fans. I think if anything, that would have been at least a small pull to stay at K-State.

Jesus, I didn't know that. Where are the contract terms? Half a mil seems like a ridiculously higher salary for what is a peer institution.

Washington State seems similar in Tuition rates as well. Their recent drop in Tuition would seem to be putting them almost as inexpensive as us.

I'm not thrilled to have K-State lose a public offical to Washington State, such a lateral move makes us look small timey. However, i didn't realize we operate so far under market in terms of compensation, so if the shoe fits, i suppose...

It's amazing how far out of the loop I am with some of this State of Kansas stuff living just a couple of hours away. The difference in those salaries is abhorrent.

I'm sure he applied for that job months ago. Maybe it helped push him in that direction, but he was obviously looking before twitter happened.

No, I don't. But I have to figure a search for a university president isn't conducted over a 2 week time span. But, their past president died back in June of 2015, so maybe he called them up a few weeks ago and things got rolling.
