Time to fight.for party. Elect Trump hatin' Republicans
« on: March 01, 2016, 07:16:22 AM »
Trump has all of these finge frothers of hate coming into our.party.  Don't support any republican running for office who supports Trump.  Congress and state governments have right this egotistical ahole.  Kobach should be skewered by Kansas.

The party does seem to be growing. Trump is getting all sorts of first time voters.

The third party voter numbers this election are going to be hilariously large.

I'd bet against that. There isn't a third party candidate in the world that will motivate the unmotivated.

I am not thinking of the unmotivated.  I am thinking of those who won't vote trump or hill.

Right, six of one half of a dozen of another. There isn't anyone who can speak to the elements of both parties that will feel disenfranchised. I actually think Hillary will be fine. She will move to the center during the general and I think the people that won't vote her SIMPLY because of the emails is very small. Most people that truly give a crap about the emails would never ever vote for any democrat.

There will be a minor split in republican votes if it's Hillary/Trump. I know tons of folks who cannot bring themselves to vote for either.

Dems will almost all follow the party line, though. This election will almost certainly be a bloodbath. The only thing that will likely skew the numbers are the dumbasses who show up and just vote the "all republican" ticket and don't even know or care who is running. I don't know why they have those on ballots.

Trump is attracting all sorts of people who don't normally vote. He will be hard to beat in the general election.

He motivated me to vote in a Republican Primary, for John Kasich

I plan on caucusing against him. A whole lot of good that will do in Kansas, though. Also, why on earth do we hold caucuses on Saturday? That is the last thing I want to do on a Saturday.

Supposedly there are more voters now not registered with a party than ever before.  I would believe that they don't register not because the right isn't far enough right or the left isn't far enough left.  They probably don't register because they only believe half, or less, than what the two parties say and don't want to be labeled as either.

I can't see much of that group "falling in line" with anyone, or having trump appeal to them and drawing them right.  I think that group has no representation in the election now and are struggling like crazy as to who to vote for, given the likely two primary winners.  I could also see them not showing up and voter participation being drastically below norms.  This is why I am surprised that the primaries are the same race to stupid as always.  A little moderation would go a long way in the Nov election.

It can't be long before something changes, ala Tea Party, for this group, but in a moderate movement way.

With all due respect, this is utterly absurd. Dems aren't going to vote pub and pubs aren't going to vote dem. Like every election, it will depend on party turnout and independents (i.e., the reality TV constituency).

Turnout at pub primaries has been substantially greater than dem primaries, indicating pubs will turn out well, dems not so much.  While I agree there are many pubs who will not vote trump, there will also be a large number of bern troglodytes who won't vote for hill because a) they feel disinfranchised by the sham delegate process or b) can't bring them self to vote for a subhuman who represents everything they think is wrong with our country.

True independents will almost certainly swing trump because he is the quintessential reality TV star. He's already got a crap load of them voting in the primaries.

A lot of people will vote Bloomberg if he enters (which it sounds like he won't, unfortunately)

I believe very little of what you just said is accurate. First of all, unless "reality tv constituency" is purely a reference to age then you underestimate what type of people are independents. Second, I doubt many people will cross party lines. The proposition I was originally responding to was that a third party would get a significant part of the vote, which seems likely to me. The idea that independents will lean Trump is also pretty laughable to me.

Early polls show nanny Bloomberg pulling more votes from dems than pubs.

It sounds like the only thing you disagree with me on is which way independents will vote. I can't find any polling info on that, other than independents generally disfavor both by an equally large margin, which leans towards independents staying home and not being much of a factor.

There's no third party candidate and there doesn't appear to be one forthcoming, so I don't know why you think it's going to impact this election.

I refuse to believe there is no third party candidate forthcoming. Nor do I believe that, if there were one, that person would feel the need to announce before the major primaries are resolved.

you have to. I dont remember the exact details, but getting on the Texas and NC ballots is really hard. And you need to start collecting signatures ASAP. id bet either later this week or sometime next week someone announces if its going to happen.

Well I'm not disagreeing with you there. I'm just thinking anyone considering running won't announce before the second Super Tuesday. After that point they won't have much time to waste.

In TX you're not even allowed to collect signatures until after the primary anyway.
