following a big road win over incarnate wood, sfa climbs all the way up to 50 in the kenpom, two spots below kansas state. with just two games apiece and the conference tourneys to go, can sfa overtake kstate before they run out of season?

I suspect that as long as KSU finishes higher than that #54 team, the season will be considered a success for a large segment of our fanbase.

chingon, in theory we could open up the race to track every team between 40 and 60. but, imo, college basketball is all about rivalries. as we all know kstate and sfa have split the kenpom race in the last two years. and now with this year coming right down to the wire, true kstate and sfa fans are naturally focused on which of these extremely similar natural rivals is going to take the 2015-2016 kenpom troph.

Not really. The very thing that boosts our rank is being in a "difficult" conference. Put KSU in the ACC or SEC and I think our rank would drop (even if we had a couple of more wins).

a great mov against tcu pushes kstate up to 43rd. sfa gets their chance tomorrow northwestern state. kenpom already thinks they'll win by 15 so they'll need to lay the wood (that's a pun) to the northwestern state whatever they ares to keep pace.

sfa has to play all these low ranked teams, which makes it harder to move up. but they have a greater probability of playing more games. i think it's a fair race.
