Fitz is a great pet for a guy like Currie.  Releases what he wants, when he wants, and acts like an insider expert to dispel things that may have leaked w/o the AD's blessing.  Also, has a v large group of faithful customers who take his reporting as gospel and enjoy nothing more than reading his info then spreading it to anyone who will listen.  Pretty much gives Currie almost full control of the grape vine.

I can assure you that his reputation around town isn't good at all. He's just been around awhile and there just isn't another local writer for TV and Radio Stations to go to at the moment.  When and if there is, he's done. And it will happen fast.

I'm surprised the University hasn't done anything yet. The AD clearly put a collar and leash on him after It's Patterson! so I'm sure they could force him into eye hernia retirement if they really wanted to. With the Penn State, Syracuse, and AAU scandals universities are going to start putting everything kid related under a microscope just to cover their asses. I'm not saying they should do something, since he's not technically an employee, but I'm surprised they haven't sat him down and had a talk with him.
