no, I do not think it is a silly comparison. the purpose of the crossfit games, from an HQ perspective, is to promote their world class fitness product. they market crossfit as a system that will get you as fit and healthy as the elite level athletes performing in the games. they lead the viewer to believe that the competitors attained their level of fitness through implementing crossfit's protocols, and that is simply not the case.

Possibly at the beginning I could see that but I guess that's what the crossfit open is for..  Anyone has a change to make it. And if someone does the open it will definitely open there eyes to what work they actually need to put in. I really don't pay much attention (like I'd say most people) to what HQ puts out for workouts or even says and just do whatever my gym has going that day and sometimes stuff on my own..

Genius marketing by that cat glassman though.. I mean combine Olympic lifting and cardio or other crap and act like you came up with gods gift to fitness, I wish I would've thought of that.

Funny story, Jason occasionally hung out at the same house I used to drink at circa 2007-8 through a friend of a friend.  He was dating a girl that was roughly my age (20), which we thought was pretty weird.  Didn't know at the time that he'd recently raped someone about the same age... They're on like late at night on ESPN2. The competitors can be pretty amazing to watch. It's like an insane combination of strength and endurance. I watch them in the same way that I watch things like American Ninja Warrior and World's Strongest Man.
