If she doesn't feel safe around the guy she can and should get a restraining order. I'm not sure why recording with a different label was the first thought.

if this person is a successful singer, then that contract is presumably worth a fair amount to sony. conversely, breaking it would be worth a fair amount to the singer.

it shouldn't be that hard to come to an agreement that fairly compensates both parties. the fact that haven't been able to suggests that either one (or both) parties is being unreasonable, or that one or both parties believes they can prevail without reasonably compensating the other party.

Legally, she isn't allowed to make new music or perform her old stuff unless it's through the guy that raped her. So she could file for a restraining order, but she's still being held hostage.

This lady wants to get away from this slime bag producer. Sony offers to give her another producer, but she doesn't want this deal because she thinks they will not produce her album. I say tough turds. Get a diferent producer and make the damn albums, or walk away. People.should quit using the civil courts to punish people for criminal acts.
