My five year old and I are listening to the radio and hear the final dunk.  I want to turn it off but tell him that we are going to listen to the post game so Self can apologize and help teach my kid the value of sportsmanship.  Then Self hops on the radio and starts swearing so I have to turn it off.  Disappointing from Greene but that language from Self disappoints me more.

Without Kamau, he's definitely the guy I want handling the rock a majority of the time. Just because that's factual doesn't mean his impact or potential impact isn't overstated. On a good team, he is at his peak, the third best player. With our motley crew he has to take on more than he can handle. Last night Fran and Barry were wondering aloud why he doesn't shoot more, which I do as well from time to time. I suspect he's taking on much of the non-scoring responsibilities that his mental and physical efforts have to be expended elsewhere to the detriment of his scoring.

On another note, Hurt's favorite team is the Mavs. You know in his mind he's the next Dirk.

Wes has improved his scoring a lot, in fact its his biggest improvement over last year. Granted, he isn't hitting 3s, but his 2PT% has improved by over 10% and his assist rate is up. Oboarding is down slightly, but the biggest struggle for him has been turnovers, and he has a few really bad ones every game. Brown leads the team in the percentage of shots (27%) taken while he's on the floor; Wes is in a group with Edwards, Stokes, Wade, and Hurt all at about 20-21%. Technically Wes is the most involved statistically because he leads the team in possession percentage. Still, I would like to see him shoot more.

If anyone is an expert on "dick" moves, it is Bill Self.

Can definitely see the improvement in Wes and don't really understand when people bring him up as an example of oscar's inability to develop players. He's in a tough spot on this squad due to our lack of depth and experience. We're getting more from him, but wish we could get even more considering the circumstances.

Last night aside . . . we really should have at least 4 more wins, and that's 4 more very high quality wins.   Youth, inexperience etc. etc. aside . . . if Oscar gets credit for having the team in those games, then he also takes the blame for the loss(es).

Numbers don't lie:  3-20 on the road in the Big 12 over the last 2.5 years, 10-18 in B12 play the last two years to date.   The administration and TuckNation are going to excuse this guy into driving this thing straight into the ground.

Underwhelming.  Even more than the 3-20 seems.

Huggs and Frank.

We won't get another Huggs miracle turn around.    Will we ever be good again?   :frown:

Oops, I used all games for Frank and oscar.

Here are conference only for all:

Kruger: 13-15 (.480)
Altman: 6-22 (.214)
Asbury: 5-41 (.110)
Wooly: 8-40 (.167)
Huggs: 4-4 (.500)
Martin: 21-20 (.512)
oscar: 9-23 (.281)

oscar has actually been better in conference games at home compared to Frank though.
Frank 29-12 (.707)
oscar 25-6 (.806)

The road record is getting to be a major problem. As others have said, oscar is 3-20 (.130) which is definitely in Wooly/Tom/Asbury territory.

So has anyone brought up that Wes did the same thing Greene did at the end of the Tech game a few weeks ago?  :buh-bye:

Townie, I think you're missing the point. I don't think anyone really GAF about the dunk, but for a fan base that loves to rub it in your face about "how classy they are" and a "educated fan base", I enjoy that things like this happen, because they can stfu!

that makes 3 times this year!
k-state fans, for good reason, could give a crap about the dunk.  but that sort of thing just isn't tolerated in the hallowed grounds of AFH.  i wonder if their fans gave Hurt a round of applause last night, what a game that youngster had.

Cheesy Mustache QB might make an appearance.

To be fair, Tech still had on a full court press, down 11, with 13 seconds left. We broke the press and Wes dunked it. He could've walked it out and ran the clock, but Tech wasn't "quitting", so neither did we. Both our guys and the KU players were walking off the court when Greene dunked. Maybe the difference isn't big, but there is a difference IMO.

Maybe not exactly the same situation, but I recall thinking at the time that I wish Wes hadn't done that because we have to play them again. I DGAF about the "classless" discussion point, but stuff like that is bulletin board material. Bowers for Mizzou did something similar to us back in 2010 in a much closer game and our team was pissed about it.

I agree Wes shouldn't have dunked it, but I think most teams/coaches recognize that if they are still pressing, the other team has the right to break it and score. Not the best idea, but not as dickish as Greene. Plus I think even Self thinks Greene is a prick.
