There is one woman in politics more disgusting than Hillary, Sarah Stupid. Whiny money grubbing harlot that sends messages to old people who get their bowels inflamed and send her the money they need to live. This is a dang good reason to vote for a pile of dog crap before Trump. Sarah's mama grizzly gene has yielded a son who was being arrested for woman beating as she was endorsing the Dud. So, theory. The Donald never wanted to win the nomination. He just wanted to get in and fire up the electorate to push the candidates. Then, unexpectedly, he was leading in the polls. Due to his vanity he couldn't drop out while he was in the lead. In comes Palin. Secretly The Donald wants her to torpedo his campaign so he can go back to not being in the race anymore. Unfortunately, it looks like even stinky Palin can't drag him down.

Replace "fire up the electorate to push the candidates" with build up his brand recognition/fame and the first part of your theory is pretty good.
