hell yeah
Man, I hate the sprint center for concerts. That would have been better placed at midland or sandstone, but all the venue determination crap seems mysterious to me.

And before you saying anything, yes I know you cannot dance on the ceiling at sandstone.

Charley Crockett last night! was such a hipster country show at an old ass restaurant banquet hall. Very good time!

The Charlie Crockett show looks like a blast.

Waxahatchee was amazing.  She brought out Kevin Morby for a cover.  Listening to her belt out 365 was pretty damn impressive in person.

Had some friends go. I heard it was pretty awesome. Not a Phishy fan, but would have totally gone for the experience.

Drew Carey talks about the show on After Midnight the other day.  It's pretty great.

I heard nothing but incredible things about U2 at the Sphere. Seems like Phish wouldn't be as...scripted/coordinated as U2 but I saw a few videos and it still looked pretty great.

Cake tomorrow at Grinders. I'm somewhat indifferent especially just getting back from vacation, but should be fun.

Cake was fun. I thought I knew most of Cake's songs but I was wrong. They played a lot I didn't know which were just ok, but the hits were pretty great. Awesome weather helped and made it a good show. 7/10

I was there too and enjoyed it as well.  A little bit of an aging rockers-type energy but they did well with it.

Also, I don't have kids so I think that keeps me from realizing how old I am.  Going to a show like this and seeing the other concertgoers is a stark reminder.

Ha, yep. We had this exact conversation last night. I never feel old thankfully, but I go to these shows and look around and realize i'm the same age as these people.  I remember feeling the same last year at Big Head Todd. Being a handsome physical specimen helps me out thought.

I went to two nights of Dead and Co at the Sphere this weekend. It was amazing. The place is huge, the screen creates the impression of 3 dimensions, not just a large tv screen.  Sat in the 300’s section right in the center on Friday night and that spot is about perfect. Last night we grabbed some upper level stub hub tix and went again and it was still fantastic.

We spoke to a dude who worked for the production crew and he said they plan to  build more in Abu Dhabi and Dubai, but expect to be able to build more and more.

It’s transformative. Any kind of event would be amazing in that venue. Even sports. It’s so rough ridin' immersive.  I’m convinced that someday every major city will have one and it will be the standard for how people experience live events.

the sounds great and the pictures i’ve seen are amazing.

i echo your sentiments about the sphere and can only imagine how incredible it would be to binge watch a season of the bachelor on it.
