Walsh had the place on fire, Petty put it out.  He played no early stuff and appeared to be going through the motions.  I'd been happy with two hours of Joe.

I agree with your assessment of Joe Walsh - he kicked all sorts of ass and I wanted him to keep playing. I also would have preferred for Petty to play more older stuff. Only one song from Damn the Torpedoes come on man.

But the stuff they did play was very well done IMO and the whole arena seemed very into it too.

Walsh did a concert for the troops on Ft. Riley when I was a kiddo. Thoroughly enjoyed it.

He didn't touch his Hard Promises album.  I think he lost his edge when he sign up with Jeff Lynne.  Then again I'm comparing Friday's show with the one I saw in '81.  Different time, different crowd.
