I didn't say crap about country, I said
Album of the Year
Record of the Year
Song of the Year
Shitty musicians don't win those, transformative artists have all three.

And with all due respect, pmshead, if you can find a more objective measure of what constitutes a good artist I'd love to know it. Until then I'm going to go with who the artists themselves, and the people who has made the industry their life, think is good.

guess i'm going to see beach house on saturday, why not
That should be lovely.

kinda meh, but fun people watching.  two independent groups in front of us managed to field a representative to headbang to beach house so that part was kinda enjoyable

Oh man I missed this post.  You were right about the people watching.  I did not see anyone headbanging though but probably because I was too busy being mesmerized by Victoria Legrand

Bobby McFerrin has a record and song of the year grammy.  I'd argue he's a fairly shitty musician.

I remember virtually nothing from post-cats Bayside last Friday.  Mixed-Nutz was there for a little bit.

Prophets of Rage - very great.  If you're stuck in KC for the foreseeable future, go back in time and go to the show there last week.

About half of the audience left in the middle of Vanilla Ice's set. I felt sorry for him.

Well at first he did some new metal/rap stuff.....I didn't really know what it was. And he had a bunch of dollar store Halloween decorations on the stage. And he had these clown guys in clown/luchedor masks. (My friend was referring to him as Vanilla ICP.)

Anyway, finally he did some of the old school rap like Ninja Rap and Ice, Ice Baby. But he kept inviting people up on stage to dance and by the end about 1/4 of the audience was on stage dancing and kicking water bottles into the crowd.

Also, the transitions were terrible (between each act). 30 minutes between some of them and they barely even did anything in the transition.

Saw Vanilla Ice a few years ago. He played a song no one has ever heard to begin, he started whispering "go ninja go ninja go" as the song was fading out and the crowd got so pumped. He stopped and began another song no one in the world has heard, as it was ending he started whispering "ice ice baby" and the crowd went nuts again. He stopped, and then played another song 3 people have ever heard. It ended and then he actually played the ninja song and ice ice baby. But he drug out IIB out for about an hour, inviting all the young looking girls on stage and just ran around for that hour raging with the girls and dancing around. Such a bizarre 5 song/1 hour and 20 minute set, but so perfect.

Bobby McFerrin is an excellent musician you incredible moron. if you could take your shitty posting and put it in a Honey, I Blew Up The Kids ray, blow it up to 10x its already voluminous size, and then turn it from horrifically bad posting into its opposite (and then turn it from posting into musicianship), that's what you'd have.

TL;DR: It's arguable whether or not Bobby McFerrin qualifies as a musical genius, but what is not arguable is that TCUhornedfrog sucks an egg at BBS'ing.
