Barry-ly watchable; North Dakota ADV
« on: December 22, 2015, 09:10:54 PM »

Another game against a bad team missing its best player. Another ugly win with plenty of struggles. I guess the 2nd half was better with increased efficiency from making some shots, but this game still had a lot of ugly play. The effort and ability to take care of the ball that I really enjoyed from this team earlier this year has slipped starting with the aTm game. Part of that is the struggles of younger players I guess, but the silly turnovers and inability to make shots has to change to win Big 12 games. I appreciate the JYC offensive boarding, but its going to take more than that to win games against good teams.

That was like being in a blind fold kissing contest, getting a hot tounge kiss, take off the blind fold and it's your sister.  You got a kiss, but got dehydrated from barfing and spitting.

It feels like oscar's teams play up or down to their competition, and this time of year we just play some serious dregs.  I think it's hard for them to stay focused.

They just got done with finals and Christmas is this week... they're not focused at all right now. Understandably so.

_FAN, are you accounting for magic?

Don't know what to think of this team. Best I can figure is they've got enough talent but haven't yet figured out how to keep up the intensity level regardless of the time/place/opponent. oscar has put a decent team together, time to see if he can coach them up.

This team is playing above their coverage. They're basically dating the red head from American pie, and their potential is Zooey. We've out punt our coverage so far and that confuses the BID crowd. Stop following the over 44 year old mods and go w/ your gut! Go cats and hope for the best! Cats, man!

pretty much every college team plays up or down to their competition.  it's almost kinda impossible not to.

Eh, I think oscar's teams are more obvious about it.

We beat teams we have no business beating more often than we should, and we get into slug fests with a lot of 200+ RPI teams.  I feel like there should be more blowouts both ways.

The reason we tend to keep it close against both good and bad teams is that our defense is generally pretty solid and offense is very spotty.

Seriously, since Pullen, Macgruder and maybe Foster (freshman year), I can't remember anyone who I had a lot of confidence in to shoot the ball when we need points.

Maybe you should get on the stokes train then. Also, Foster was last year, so i'm sorry you've had to wait a whole 6 months to find a shooter for this team.

I never had that kind of confidence in Foster.  :dunno:

38% of our scoring is coming from freshmen right now. I do have confidence that one (or maybe 2) out of Wade, Brown, or Stokes will develop into that kind of go-to scorer eventually.
