According to this awesome website, he's also 98% less likely to shoot/stab/strangle someone. #whitepriv

"but those incidents fall short of murder"  really liked that line.  If it's not murder, then gosh, it really doesn't matter.

I sprained my ankle for the first time sunday and thought it would be better to amputate it for about an hour before I had access to ice because it was very painful and the swelling was bad.  Now the bruising looks super gross and if I had more pigment it probably wouldn't be so noticeable/disgusting.

sprained ankles are a very weird injury.

My experience with them is that the next day is way worse than the day of the injury.

In my case, I had to leave the soccer field and then sit in the sun with no ice and not being able to really elevate it for about an hour until I could get a ride home and then finally take some ibuprofen and ice it, so the day of was worse, but I also iced and elevated a lot day 2.

My best friend in Chicago is a black fella and a couple years ago he started getting white splotches all over his arm where his skin would basically lose pigment.  It freaked him out a ton because he thought it was going to happen to his face and hands and stuff (which it sometimes does).  It didn't though -- just some spots on his arms stuck to his arms.

Anyway he was really afraid of that.  So I guess take solace in the fact that while your grotesque bruised ankle is a tough thing in this society, at least it's temporary.

In my experience, the worst thing about sprained ankles is you have to be really careful for a long time after it heals or it will easily happen again.

Not uncommon in white people either, just less noticeable.

Common enough for my bro to understand what was happening to him and be terrified that it was going to get really bad.

Yeah Vitiligo is not unique to black people (my mom has it on her arms), but it was made famous by a black guy (Micheal Jackson).

My wife and mil both have vitiligo and they're white as the driven snow. Paco May, Michael Jackson, and my cousin Reggie are the only black folks I know with vitiligo.

And bad news for your friend y-l-a but vitiligo is for life, he will have some times when it will come in and some times when.it won't. It can be dormant for years then he'll start getting spots again for no rhyme or reason.

When I was in Florida I met a man that had vitiligo. It was just on his eyelids and around his mouth. From afar, I thought it was makeup.

Is that what Sammy Sosa got, or was that just steroid side effects?

You know 2 white people and 3 black people with Vitiligo. Using this evidence, I would say black people are 50% more likely to get it.

I heard that it usually skips a generation but your evidence is not suggesting that.  :runaway:

I know a much higher percentage of black people in America than white people. I think I know roughly 79% of all black people that live between the Mississippi River and the Sierra Nevadas and 93% of them us New England, so three is pretty low.
