I tend to acknowledge and greet lots of folks.

But I have noticed since being back in the Midwest a lot more, that people are much more uptight.
That's not a Midwest thing, that's a you thing.

Case in point.

I'm going bald. I'm not bald, but I will be. I will have to shave my head and just go smooth up top. Black guys look WAY better with this look than white guys. Not fair.

For those of you who can actually stomach hanging around black people, do you get super jeals that we always greet each other when we see another black person whether we know them or not? Are you guys jeals of the fact that we have intricate dap and we can do it with strangers and it's not at all awkward?

Was with a black guy recently and we're buds and stuff, but whenever he would talk with another brother, it was like he saved all the cool ways of talking for the other black guys. Like, he wouldn't say "where do you live" when talking with a black guy, he'd say "Where you stay" and stuff like that.

I'm kinda that way too, tho. I don't talk cool until I get around my black friends. Am I a monster?!  :curse:

Yeah, I think we all play to our crowd. I mean, when i'm around Ms. Wacky's brothers lawyer friends, I try to act all sophisticated and stuff. However, I can really let go when i'm around her friends bf's who love sports.

But I have noticed since being back in the Midwest a lot more, that people are much more uptight.

I have been saying for years that midwestern friendliness is a made up thing by midwesterners to brag about

maybe people just don't like you.  I think people are very friendly in the midwest.  I know I'm like the nicest person ever

Yeah, notice the posters complaining about this. Also, check out my top 10 jerks for this week and it makes total sense.

sometimes i feel like ms. 'blast makes fun of my dance moves simply because i'm white.

Happens to all of use white dancers.  If we were black we'd have better dance moves.  It's genetic.

I got called Clark Kent one time while walking through Art Alley at First Fridays. Very traumatic experience.

An Asian gentleman that I have never met before told me I looked like Conner ???? of MMA fame. I have a 4 month beard and I am white. I'll bet this Conner chap is white, too. MIR wouldn't have to deal with this crap.

I'm almost 40 years old yet I would guess that still about 98% of conversations I have with white people about what university I attended contains the question "what sport did/do you play?" Not exaggerating that percentage either, it's astonishing.
