I think Puni is only listing whitewashing issues, not Asian stereotypes, which was the question that Emo asked about.

Oh.  But like in my list of characters I didn't see a lot of similarities across them.
Well Nakatomi is a building... so...

Stop being so racist. Just because you remember an Asian name from a movie doesn't mean the only Asian guy in the movie had that name. SMDH.

He (Takagi) didn't have the codes to the vault. You really think Nakatomi wouldn't have the codes to his own vault?

Emma Stone as a Japanese character in decendents (?)
Wrong movie but yes, premier example.

If you are talking about Aloha, that character was a half-Asian who did not look Asian - that was like a major part of the story (or so I've heard). Do you know how hard it would be to find an Asian actor who does not look Asian but is still Asian enough not to get the whitewashing backlash???

His need to know was streamlined during kaizen.

I had a conversation with my Japanese coworker/friend about the original ghost in the shell where I said that I really liked it but the English voice acting was absolutely horrible, and the next day he showed up at my desk with a DVD he had rented for me of the Japanese audio version.

earlier this week I participated in the morning "radio exercises"

everyone thought it was hilarious

I think I will do it again today, really got me feeling good to attack the day

the hardest part is this section where you jump up and down with your arms at your sides and then switch to jumping jacks and back again

it was difficult like patting your head and rubbing your tummie

Why is it called radio exercises?

because they were (maybe still are?) broadcast on the radio for everyone to do at once.

reading on Wikipedia I was surprised to learn that this practice was actually adopted from america

I was just asking for examples is all.  I couldn't really think of any.

Aren't all cultures stereotyped by Hollywood tho?

When I worked at Boeing, at 9:30am everyone who wanted to would go into a conference room for stretches.

Drunk Irishmen

Bad teeth British

I think on tbs or some crap as a youngster. lots of people would reference it at my old job when I told them I was taking this one.

I think its time for a rewatch.
