It’s 7:47pm
How did things go out there?
OK, Morgan just can’t seem to find the hole out there sometimes. I really miss Tyler.
Who? Oh, I understand, he may have lost a step, or maybe he never had it to begin with, I’m not sure. But we all miss Aaron, that’s for sure.
I watched the film from their 2009 season like you asked, I didn’t really see anything that I thought would apply to the game on Saturday.
Heh. Well, I’ll take a look.
Both pause and look out the large windows as the last warm glow of light descends over the cold stadium benches.
Son, I want you to know I am doing everything I can to ensure that your future is here at Kansas State.
Well, thanks Dad, but do you really think I should be considered? I mean I’d like to have it, I guess, but I just can’t see them actually giving it to me.
They’ll consider it, they owe it to me, and you, and you’re more than qualified. I’ll always be here, we can do it together.
Sean looks at his feet. He mutters something indiscernible. Then,
I guess what I really want to say is, that sometimes I wonder if I even really want it. I kind of like what I’m doing now. I think it suits me.
Bill’s expression becomes more severe.
No. All that I have done for you all these years has been leading to this moment. The way I am remembered will not be solely based on my accomplishments, but on my family’s as well. This must and will happen and you need to start acting like it.
OK.
Now, I’ve really got a lot to do.
Sean slowly turns and walks out the door. As he pulls it closed, he peeks back at his father. The glance is not returned.
