Off the wall thought...

Les Miles at Nebraska would be a hoot.
I know fans were clamoring for Riley to be fired after the Purdue loss, but haven't given much thought to whether or not that's realistic.

If he does get fired, I don't think Nebraska hiring him is a crazy thought.  It goes without saying that he'd be a great hire, and I think he'd be as good a fit for Nebraska as anyone.

I would love this

I should rephrase -- i meant that I think Nebraska would be as good a fit for him as any other school.

How great would it be if Briles takes the LSU job?  Talk about a win-win for both conferences

The stupid move of firing Les will make this a wonderful wonderful carousel.  I am pretty jazzed.

LSU is super stupid.  Who are they going to get that is better than Les?  It will suck if the Big12 loses Briles, imo, unless we gain Les.

If Charlie Strong goes to UM, Art Briles will drive a big Cadillac convertable, with the longnorns on the front, to Austin.  He will park out front of the AD's offices, light up a big cigar, have those two Big 12 title trophies sitting in the back, and just wait for them to come kiss his ass.

Didn't Briles turn down the Texas job 2 years ago?  Why would he be interested now?

I'm not sure that's accurate.  He wants that job, and he's going to bring hellfire and brimstone against them on 12/6 to show them how pissed he is.

Guys I know connected to Texas football say that he considers UT to be his birthright.  Exact words.

makes life easier for OU & UT and the SEC will have an elite offensive coach at an elite school, something they haven't had since Urban "retired" (sorry chingon but Auburn is maybe half a step down from Bama, UF, GA and LSU imo)

It's not like Baylor has brought much glory to the conference outside of beating a couple of third place Pac 12 schools.  I mean, it's 4 years since RG3 won the Heisman and Duke in 17/18 is the premier non con on Baylor's schedule.

That's not what Barnett said btw, he did not make a definitive statement.

Was it mentioned that Miles has a $15 million buyout? They are paying a guy who wins 9-10 games a year $15 million to leave, that's so gross. And to get whomever they're looking for you gotta think it will be in excess of $4 million annually with an even bigger buyout. They get whatever is coming to them.

I'd wager that the AD was either pledged that buyout money or was looking to take an even bigger hit based on threats from big money donors. That's the only way a move like that makes any sense.

If you have that money, pledge it to a bunch of 'cruits and let les win.  Basically throwing the money away giving it to the ad.

Ubbs also declared today that KU is a better job than K-State, saying it is easier to win there than at K-State or Iowa State

Surely this was taken out of context. You would think the "easier to win there" argument would go out the window after coach #3 couldn't do anything at all.

People say that crap constantly, yet outside of Seneca Wallace/Todd Reesing eras, both schools have sucked for like 50 years. Any coach that goes to ku and has any success, say, like 8 wins will leave for a better job. Mangino was a really unique situation.

Meanwhile Currie can relax because he has his guy in the bag.  No worries that someone will poach his choice.

He almost lost oscar to the College of Charleston, so Currie better make damn sure he has his guy locked up for football.

Lazy idiots like Ubben trot that crap out about how tough a job K-State is because Snyder and Co have completely mailed it in on the recruiting trail and have turned the program into walk on U.

Ubbs goes back and forth on his dumbassary, hes definitely on the waxing end with those comments.

What could possibly make KU easier to win?  An AD that doesn't fund football for want of Basketball funds? Art Deco facilities?  Fan apathy?

If the KU job was better then they would've gotten someone better than Beaty last year.

Probably but what's the deal with his show cause?  He has to sit a year or something if he comes back?
