Gems of the Game Thread: ALCS Game 1
« on: October 17, 2015, 12:16:53 AM »
Good evening, gang!  Dlew12 here again with another edition of Gems of the Game Thread.  Tonight, I ventured over to BlueJaysMessageBoard.com and read 1240 posts so you don't have to!  Let's get right to it:

Pregame
Quote
Lol... Volquez is terrible, can't wait to see the Jays skullfuck his goofy ass.
I've got a good feeling about where this is going.
Quote
Alcides batting leadoff while Gordon bats 8th... Yost really is incompetent. I hate it when stupid people succeed despite their incompetence.
Quote
Man do I want to see them rough ridin' WRECK Volquez.
Quote
Half their lineup is literally scrubs. Their best hitter is as good as our 4th best. We should rake them around tonight pretty easily. 12-2 game 1
Victor.
Quote
If the Jays don't win by at least 35 runs they should be flogged.
Quote
Kansas City and there reporters are despicable when it comes to talking about Canada I want to beat them so bad.
Quote
I hope they tarp the field with that flag if it starts raining
Quote
here we go lets destroy these fuckers and never take our foot off the gas
Game
Quote
2 pitches in and he says "he looks sharp". Shut up you moron.
Well get used to it.
Quote
Lets see if you can actually pitch to these guys instead of throwing at them.
Quote
Since when does this frog throw 97 again?
Is that racist?  It sounds racist.
Quote
these commentators are as biased as they come
re. Lorenzo or Hos:
Quote
Throw it at his head now or don't throw it at all.
Quote
One thing I find American's do the worst is pronounce Toronto. They always say "Torontoe" is it that or is it the way people in the city say it "Towronno"
one thing i find "Canadian's" do the worst is play America's past time.  love it or leave pal.
Quote
This is why I'm not afraid of the Royals; no real offensive threat. Leadoff double turns to nothing.
Quote
They will drop sooner or later, at least they're making good contact.
No runs for you tonight.
Quote
When's 'Strada gunna bean a rough rider in the face?
trash humans
Quote
Estrada is friggin nails right now. Volquez getting babip luck, it'll turn around this inning
flukey royals
Quote
Volquez the guy who was calling Donaldson a baby. So mature
Quote
beam a rough rider in the head, when?
garbage humans
Quote
fastball into a guys face, when?
disgusting
Quote
rough ridin' biased Fox assholes.
After the RBIs
Quote
eff off Royals
Quote
so "Royals baseball" is the thing that will be drilled into our earholes this series it sounds like
learn to love it
Quote
say "royals baseball" again
Quote
urge to kill rising
interesting relationship between royals confidence and torontoe's "urge to kill"
Quote
If this game ever gets robot umps jays are going to be unstoppable
i don't know about robot umpires, but you'll witness several cyborgs later on
Quote
People said we'd beat up Volquez
Quote
These guys couldn't be more pro-Royals

Estrada is pitching significantly better than Volquez, it's all batted ball luck so far. rough ridin' Royals
flukey royals
Re. sexy Ed:
Quote
Drugs. He looks like the ugliest piece of garbage I've ever seen
Quote
angry bautista is a good bautista royals are mumped now
Quote
have to keep them at 2.. hopefully we can capitalize on volquez's mistakes soon
Quote
Volquez looking nearly unhittable tonight
After the Salvydong
Quote
Escobar, Perez, and Volquez were all crap on to open this series all 3 of them carrying the Royals.
Quote
"Royals baseball"
Quote
We are screwed
Quote
Estrada is pitching a better game than Volquez. One guy is getting lucky, the other isn't.
those dang flukey royals
Quote
It's only three runs. If bats start hitting we can make that up no problem
"just a little airborn, it's still good it's still good!"
Quote
God they're masturbating over Volquez.
:blindfold:
Quote
Volquez is great at inducing line drives right at his defenders
Quote
Next inning is the one. This just doesn't add up, volquez is trash

Jd walk, bautista double, eddy walk then he's pulled
Quote
Bullshit luck for Volquez compared to Estrada who's pitching much better.
Really, if you ignore the hits and the runs, Estrada pitched a gem.
Quote
Volquez is going to get crushed this time through the order!

Let's GOOOOOOO
sys sock

After the walks in the 6th
Quote
nice ab jose

volquez has lost the little bit he had
Quote
Zobrist moving around is pissing me off
like, sorry?

Out number two in the 6th:
Quote
lucky rough ridin' bitch. that's all.
Quote
That would have been off the wall at the dome, and Donaldson would have had a home run earlier too.
Out number 3 for Ed:
Quote
That was our chance, game 2 is a must win.
Quote
I said it all along Texas Rangers were not that good, the Royals on the other hand, going down 0-2 good luck.
Quote
Volquez missed his spot and nicked the edge of the top part of the zone, it's luck.

Chill out, saying we miss Reyes... Fickle clown.
Quote
eff this game has been so rough ridin' frustrating.
Royals baseball!
Quote
What an ugly man Volquez is. That forehead never ends.
Quote
Volquez mocking Tulo for not swinging. make a poster of that for the clubhouse
On Donaldson's error:
Quote
why cant we get a garbage hit like that
our defense is competent
Quote
Royals getting all the breaks.
Quote
Luck all on the Royals' side tonight.
Quote
Estrada pitched better then Volquez but he's losing. Tough game
Quote
eff if that Double-play doesn't get them going nothing will.
i'm afraid i've got some bad neeeeews
Quote
Royals Dominican pitchers are good at béisbol
not a great look, bluejaysmessageboard.com.
Quote
Herrera bitch slapped the jays
Re. God Bless America:
Quote
I would have rather watched a terrible political commercial over someone butcher that terrible rough ridin' song.
Quote
Perez isn't leaving the game unless he is bleeding out of his head. Guy is tough as nails.
Quote
This game was absolute ass. Move on to Game 2, please.
Quote
Davis will blow it in the 9th, everything so far is opposite of what would normally happen
Quote
should be a short series.....KC plays baseball.....our guys try and hit 3 run home runs with nobody on base. Horrible approach at the plate by all tonight. No moving of runners, attempting a steal, etc. Apparently it will take 3 singles or a HR to get a run across the plate and that makes for a short series.

maybe pick up another starter in the off season and one more solid reliever
Quote
Volquez was good, Estrada was better
Quote
The good news is that we're still the superior team by a wide margin. Less talented teams win playoff games, so they got the 1st. They won't beat us in the series.
i'd love to hear this guy's take on last year's pennant.
Quote
We don't marry our sisters

Stay classy Kansas Shitty
Quote
They flat out kicked our ass tonight. We hit some balls pretty well right at them into bad luck. But they outpitched and out hit us.

Lets get em tomorrow with Pricey on the bump!!
Quote
Such a typical Royals win. Shitbag starter junks his way through six, the team plays tight defense and scratches a few runs across, and the bullpen shuts it down.
:)
Quote
these games happen? what planet are you on? at this point in the season every single game is important. we play arrogant baseball that is our problem. we believe at any moment we can hit a home run and that simply IS NOT REALITY in the post season. we looked like dog crap tonight; even worse if words could describe. i sure hope edwin isn't hurt tomorrow, but either way i'm sick and tired of watching this team perform like sissys. this is pathetic.

Interesting that they bring up BABIP. Estrada has the lowest BABIP in baseball history since the origin of the designated hitter. BABIP is widely considered a 'luck' stat, and Estrada has been the luckiest in history

Just a little aphorism I gleaned from my spiritual advisor's twitter feed--Bishop J. Money Manziel. I believe it refers to increasing the size of the chip on one's shoulder.

How much money would you pay to sweep the Blue Jays? Like if someone said we were going to win, but you could pay this dollar amount for it to be a sweep, I'd probably pay like $200.

Based upon productive/non-productive days, I would probably pay $2,000 for a sweep.

i would like to know which half of our lineup is scrubs. i mean, the lineup is an odd number.

I went to the site and read 1800 posts, but I am not as capable as Dlew, so you have to go read them, too. It was pretty melt-downy. Lots of conspiracy against Bluejays. Lots of use of the word "eff".

the 7th obviously is an absolute joy to read. blame is evenly split up between goins, price, and ump.

this was my favorite:

Quote
Price is a mental midget.

here are some ok ones:

Quote
comon goins, you're batting like .050, just get the rough ridin' ball

Quote
The wiiiiirrrreeee...

Quote
This is all the umpires work on those blown strike calls

i like this next one because i pronounced it "lo-ins"

Quote
triple play. I feel it in my loins

Quote
thanks rough ridin' Goins eff eff eff

Quote
Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo ooooooooooooooooo

Quote
double play with slow fart morales up

Quote
Goins looks like an idiot

Quote
Royals baseball, flail around and hope balls bloop in

Quote
Royals baseball is a bitch to play against

Quote
announcers are sure happy now... eff you FOX

Quote
Another strike called ball

Quote
Blatant obvious cheating

Quote
This ump is mumped

Quote
Suddenly shrinking the strikezone.

Quote
eff you goins!!!!!!!!!!!!

Quote
eff goins, eff the ump

Quote
eff this bullshit.

Quote
God damn inconsistent strike zone.

Quote
American ump saying, eff you Canadian team, not on my watch

Quote
Let's go Jays

Quote
Man Perez is a nice dude! How do you not like a guy like that?!

Quote
LOL at you guys blaming PRICE. He was amazing! Goins messed it up and now the stadium is crazy...do you forget about game 5 against texas??? The fans matter!

LETS GO.

Don't bash Price

Quote
Gentlemen, this game is not over and the Royals went to their pen earlier than we did. If Price gets out of this inning it's a new ball game.

Quote
Rolf shadows

Quote
im gona cry

Quote
Those lob loom large. Heck they are somewhat lucky to have scored 3.
  renocat?

Quote
Cant believe FOX doesnt have better graphics than that.

Quote
These games could have been at rough ridin' Rogers centre but we decided to throw them in the garbage

Quote
I wish there were more shadows and wires to help us win.

Without the shadows and wires we don't look too good.

Quote
Yeah Price can't pitch in the playoffs I am sorry if anyone doesn't agree.

Quote
okay we lost.

Quote
this is unbelievable

Quote
Holy eff I cannot with these announcers.

Quote
Astros.

Quote
so sad

Quote
eff KC and their clustering luck.

Quote
this game isn't over yet, we can still win it.

Quote
Does the scouting report say throw change ups 2-2, 3-2 to every lefty because that's what they continue to do. Dumb

Quote
Royals baseball !!!!

Quote
i rough ridin' hate this lol

Quote
Fox should do a 1 hour special about this inning

Quote
Price, errors are part of the game. You're a piece of crap.

Quote
Price just had explosive diarrhea in the bed. What a d-bag.

Quote
Royals have some kind of luck wow.

Quote
I'm muting this crap. Can't take the rough ridin' verbal cum showers from this crew right now

Quote
Come on Tuloshitsky

Quote
Royals might be better

Quote
I think you all should watch the rest of this in silence. It's actually far more enjoyable. Make up commentary with your loved ones

Quote
Here comes the selfish at bats by the Jays.

Quote
Holy eff Herrera has been good these two games. Gas.

Quote
we can get 3 off of Davis no problem

Quote
loup is still poop

Quote
The Fox crew is just sensation, sensation, sensation. Unlistenable.

Quote
Loup is the worst pitcher on earth

Quote
Gibbons could be handed the 1927 Yankees and still find a way not to win a World Series with that roster.

somebody called another poster a "casual fan" for turning the game off, and he responds with his fan resume:
Quote
Sure whatever you say man, I went to 15 regular season games, even some on the road, been to all the playoff games, even have an old Jays logo license plate from 2009 but yeah sure I am a casual fan you ass pelican.

Quote
That 6th run killed us

Quote
This has ruined my entire weekend

There were several great posts where they bitched about strike calls, then Fox showed the replay with the box deal, and the response was, "Fox shifted the box over like 6 inches. Conspiracy!"

That is for real, not made up.
