So, anybody have any info on Cook?

If he is not available, who is our back-up behind Hubener?

What a mess

Snyder stated that he's gonna play both QB and WR moving forward. :dunno:

Excuse me?

@jlkurtz: Snyder says Kody Cook will play both QB and WR moving forward.

Not sure how it's going to work out with a shoulder/collarbone hernia. I'm assuming he'll only be used as a "wildcat," option which is dumb.

How will he effectively carry the ball in the wildcat with a mumped up shoulder/collar bone?

Stud assistant Collin Klein will coach him up.

Or just slide into Cook's jersey.

I know we all agreed after the LT game that the Wildcat needs to be retired, but I'm all for a healthy Cook running that formation. He's 10x the runner BJ is at QB.

Something scary just occurred to me. Haven't our guys tended to get beat up more against TCU than any other team the last few years? Playing them and OSU back to back is pretty awful since OSU has a knack for injuring QBs.

I know on tv they said Heath was trying to get back in the game but that when he jumped up and down it appeared to cause pain.

I read from a reputable poster elsewhere that Cook was practicing yesterday, and said stinger.

The problem with playing Cook  exclusively at QB is we lose our best WR, especially if Heath can't play. JMHO.

Our wideouts can actually catch Cook's passes.. He is far above our best qb. We can get a new #1 WR

They catch his passes, because he gets loose and opens things up. I need Kody Cook in my life!

Cook looked really good on two drives and made some exciting plays, but let's not be ridiculous. Am I the only one who remembers the 3 straight 3&outs that went backwards in the 3rd quarter?

I remember Dimel calling some total dogshit plays that modern day folk hero CK couldn't save, if that is what you mean.

Yes. His overthrows and lack of pocket presence fall fully on Dimel.

Let's breakdown the 9 plays to start the 3rd quarter:
Incomplete pass
Incomplete pass
Sack
Incomplete pass
Sack
Incomplete pass
Silmon rush for 1 yard
Cook rush for -1 yard
Pass complete :excited: ...for -5 yards :frown:

agreed, as much as I loved what Kody did Saturday, he can't pass AND catch.

the problems here are two-fold - the receivers couldn't catch the damn ball, and we changed our play calling because of it.  they can't dop them all!

Go back and re-watch the third quarter and compare it to what we did in the first half.  Dimel went conservative with pocket passes and runs straight up the middle when OSU was stacking the box.  Cook had two passes that he should have hit but under threw one and one was just slightly too high.  Andre also dropped one.  In the first half they had him rolling out of the pocket and hitting receivers.  They went full conservative in the third quarter and we should have learned by now to never go full conservative with this team.  Roll Cook out and let him do his thing. That's our best option right now, especially if Heath is good to go.

I would be more open to moving Cook to QB if Jones also switches to WR. Let's put our best athletes on the field if we're going that route.
