Dysfunction and the Budget

All appropriation bills start in the House, and when the bills pass the House they go to the Senate for action.  There are twelve appropriation bills that supposedly fund separate segments of government.  These are suppose to be stand alone bills.  When they get to the Senate there is a super majority rule that says it takes 60 votes to pass and send a bill to the President.  Republicans have 56 votes, and Democrats are staying solid.  So no appropriations get passed and spending authority expires.  So our elected wussies pass a continuing resolution to continue to provide spending authority at present levels until a budget and appropriations are passed.  The intent is to debate and pass each bill on it's own merits.  Now it is a game of chicken not the real work of goverance.  Both sides play the game.  This latest on Planned Parenthood is an example.  With a continuing resolution the president can say he will veto a resolution to fund all of government if one penny is taken from this thing.  It is time to pass 12 bills and end resolutions.  The people must demand no less.

Well we have one week left before the federal government can't spend any money.  What's going to happen?  I predict Bemoanocrats will find some heart wrenching reason to justify not voting for a continuing budget resolution, and republicans will whizz themselves.  Anarchy will pursue especially.when people start getting hurt.  We have created a dependency on government and are never going away from this, feed the beast or it will consume us.
