Theory about Die Hard
« on: September 30, 2015, 12:15:37 PM »
Hello everyone.

So there I was last night, watching Die Hard again, and it hit me. Holly McClaine was in on the heist. John's estranged wife just picks up and moves from NYC to LA and joins, nay, is plated, at the superpower Nakatomi Corp and somehow becomes 2nd in charge? How else does Hans and his minions know there are $640 million in untraceable bearer bonds? You guessed it, Holly McClaine Gennaro, Hans' mole.

Just way too much smoke here, folks. There are zero holes to this theory.

Thank you.

my theory about die hard is that it is amazing and stands the test of time very well, and even though it's a pretty well known movie i'd have to say it is underrated

I read once that dh1 was pretty revolutionary in sound production because they used realistic (but a little over the top) gun noises and up to that point guns sounded pretty pud usually

I didn't want to believe it at first. Not one person has proven she wasn't involved.

the eff she wasn't. remember when she had to ask Hans for the couch for the prego chick? He asked her who put her in charge and she said "you did, when you killed my boss"

This is all a clever ruse of course as they were in cahoots.

and when die hard is on the roof and like swinging from a rope it reminds me of adventures in babysitting so I also associate those two movies.

Was holly a go getter? Sure. Was she actually second in charge of nakatomi? No way. Just look at her office.

also, even if you want to make the dramatic leap of saying she was second in charge (which she wasn't), she was only second in charge of the LA branch of nakatomi and nakatomi is a japanese based company. I mean the night manager of Manhattan walmart isn't second in command of walmart and it's absurd to think he/she would be.

Holly Gennero McClane: I have a request.
Hans Gruber: What idiot put you in charge?
Holly Gennero McClane: You did. When you murdered my boss. Now everybody's looking to me. Personally, I'd pass on the job. I don't enjoy being this close to you.

She had a full bath in her office. You think Ellis got a full bath? absolutely not.

classic case of real cop being jealous of movie cop's wife.
I think what my friend Mitch is trying to say is that true love is blind.

Well Ellis was without a doubt above her in the LA branch heirarchy. Why else would he reward her with a rolex watch for her recent big sale and why else would she put up with his flirting. Holly worked her way up the ladder at LA nakatomi no doubt but she was mid level management at best.
