I was in my driveway for about 45 minutes on Sunday, and now I'm covered in no fewer than 50 oak mite bites. I'm scratching like I have chicken pox.

What do oak mite bites look like? How do you know they aren't mosquito bites?

They generally resemble chigger bites, with a smaller pustule in the center. KSU profs described them in an article (http://jme.oxfordjournals.org/content/43/3/610) and included photos:

Well, a good indicator is that I'll get covered in a few dozen of them in about fifteen minutes, without being around a swarm of mosquitoes.

Also, your body feels like you have chicken pox.

Finally, when you take your clothes off, it looks like you have chicken pox.

Pissing all over yourself works too.  Learned that from "Naked and Afraid".  Also, noticed that it not a good idea when on a date.  :D

They're microscopic they make it through clothes no problem.

Can you actually feel them biting you when it happens?  I feel crap but I wonder if I'm like freaking out man.

I literally have bites like where my two butt cheeks touch each other.  Multiple in that area.  And when I've gone outside it's either been with pants or with like workout shorts with the integrated compression shorts (tight seal).  Fuckers are incredible.

sd do you have big beautiful mature murderous trees in your yard?  You built a house so I'm guessing no.
