my sources confirm what 'blast said
You didn't even need to confirm, what 'blast says is stone cold truth, always

yes, but there's always a potential for variability with injuries, so let's stay on our toes
Or variability in how much of a chance Snyder thinks we have against the pokes?
I'm purple down

No longer listed on depth chart.  Was hoping that was just trying to f with Stoops, but perhaps not.  Even if he gets/takes the redshirt, we will now lose a year of production from Newlan/Prewitt.  This injury hurt us more than any other this year.

I don't like our chances against BU without Dante.

Not great to begin with.  Pretty remote with him.  Dante got his trial by fire in the 2012 BU game; would have been nice if he could return for the BU game this year and return the favor of spoiling their season.  Would make me very happy.

I'll be honest; I'd rather have Barnett back for another year anyway, if we can.

Next year, if we had him and Prewett back there, that would go well with Lee/Davis in the middle, with Geary/Willis still on the line.  Duke Shelley locking down one of the corners will be big, too.

Hopefully, the offense comes around a little better next year and we have a more complete roster.  Barnett's leadership will be needed.

I don't have an encyclopedic knowledge of the roster, but this is my preference as well. We aren't graduating anyone very good at the skill positions on offense, so it should be better next year (though Whitehair will be tough to replace). Having our best defender returning should leave us pretty solid on both sides of the ball.

Probably the biggest reason I'd be happy for him to redshirt is that I feel we'd probably be undefeated if he was healthy this year. Seems like a waste to bring him out for half a year IF we could get a full year of production out of him next season.

I think the only question is whether or not he'd get much out of coming back in regards to his draft stock.

I'll assume that he has/will get his degree.  If he comes back next year, and does well, does that get him drafted in the 3rd round?  4th round?  If he leaves now, will it be 6th or 7th?

Will it be worth it to him to stay?

If he's just going to leave, then play him for as many games as you can this year.  If he'll stay, sit him.

If his options are playing our last 6 games or coming back for another full season he's leaving, especially if he has a chance at the NFL.

I kind of remember Baylor '12 and like 10 dropped ints last year, but that might've been someone else.
