and moving very close to a hot one with Russia getting more aggressive in Syria, likely to open an air base and with NATO scrambling to react. Likely putting Western military operations, Western supported 'freedom fighter' aka terrorists at odds with direct Russian military intervention. Russian intervention which could or could not be supporting Assad or could or could not be supporting the 'war on terror' or the 'war on ISIS'. It's pretty much the perfect recipe for a 'mistake' and for things to escalate.

So, we're gonna need you too cool for schoolers to start lobbying your musical heroes to start producing some more overtly armageddonish style songs.

I agree this is alarming, but not surprising. Russia will benefit from economic activity with Iran, and someone has to clean up the mess Obama caused. IMO the scariest thing is that likely developing countries are going to turn to Russia or China for help and trade causing us the wither away.

I just need to get this right. The United States and friends is trying to overthrow the Assad regime. The Obama Administration has already overthrown the Libyan regime, but it's some other faction of neocons who support Putin? So there's two factions of neocons, Lib? Are they like two rival gangs?

Gosh guys this whole Syrian thing is starting to sounds, dare I say, biblical?? (Lib meltdown in 3, 2, 1 . . .)

Russian and Western Military operations in the same area with potential opposing political and strategic agendas. Really not hard at all to see a potential crisis. Lots of concern in D.C. per the numerous news articles.

If we don't carve out the cancer, Russia will. Who gives a rip about Aasad. There was at least stability in the region. Now all ISWS fighters world wide are all foamed up with rage with many in Russia's backyard.

Today's news:
1. Russian subs detected near US undersea cables
2. US fighter jets intercept two russian jets within 1 nautical mile of the USS Reagan. Evidently, one of our ships tried to communicate with them and they ignored, so we sent up our jets.

Earlier this week: Afghanistan asked Russia for security help in helping it fight rebels.

Putin is really putting in some work here and I think it's working. I mean, the guy on the radio this week compared Afghanistan asking Putin for help to what it would be if Northern Vietnam asked us for military help in the '90's.

The Chiners are building islands on the South China Sea and claiming the whole thing as chinaeese territory, threatening the most vital shipping lane in the world.
