let me tell you guys a little something about days like today. two things can happen and they are more/less outlined like this....

1)some storms go through the area earlier in the day and suck a lot of potential energy out of the sky by decreasing the air temperature and reducing the amount of moisture aka humidity in the air. if this happens, the later storms will not be very strong.

2)nothing happens early in the day, the sky becomes charged and then we get tornadoes, large baseball hail and everybody dies.

I was in Maes basement during the '08 tornado. Canco that it is very safe.

Pro tip: Right before the 'nado hits be sure to order an extra drink, even if you don't need one at the time. Jeff will stop serving booze and let anyone in the door for shelter because he is a good human being.

WIBW already has 2 cells with rotation.  One south of Wichita, one south of Manhattan (by a bit).

Since you are currently blogging at work, I would say you are justified in going home as soon as you have a reasonable excuse.

WIBW saying hail is huge near MHK.  Rotation near town, no tornado warning yet.
