He says that SEC teams wanted him as a DB, but he wants to play QB.

He's big, and looks the part.

He said that KSU made a "deal" with him that if he wouldn't take any more visits, then we wouldn't recruit any other QB's in his class.  He says his commitment is 100% to us.  He also talked about how he "asked himself" why Snyder would unretire and come back to the same school....that there must be "something special" here.

Sams would be fine.  He certainly looks the part.   He's got speed, size, a strong arm, throws well on the run, and from the two minutes of video I can find, he's still pretty raw.  Del Miller, since he spends no time recruiting anyone, should be able to spend time refining his skills in the time between getting Seniors coffee at Wal-Mart and getting the early bird special at Village Inn.

I personally don't buy that we don't at least leave the door open for some of the other undecideds, regardless of what Sams decides to do. Even if we're only really looking for 1 QB in this class, you'd have to be flat nuts not to at least continue to court/leave the option open for a kids like Frazier/Hundley/Starling/etc.

This staff may not be great recruiters, but they're not plain stupid either. If they really made this deal with Sams it was 1.) Not exactly as represented here or 2.) Because these other kids aren't giving anyone at Vanier the time of day.
