I am biased, but I see physics as the fundamental science.

What if the Earth fell?
When one person, for whatever reason, has a chance to lead an exceptional life, he has no right to keep it to himself.

What if the Earth fell?

Do you mean if the Earth suddenly was not under the gravitational pull of the sun?

Yes. That is exactly what I mean.

Yes. That is exactly what I mean.

but did you instead mean that the earth suddenly was not held up by centrifugal "force" and plummeted into the sun due to its gravitational pull?

Sure. That too. All of that rolled into one giant orb.

If the gravity stopped,  we would be flung off into space.

Well in one scenario we would die of cold; in the other we would die of heat.

No gravitational pull --> Flung into space ---> gets cold because we are away from the sun.
Too much gravity --> hurled into the sun ---> gets really hot when we get close to the sun.

I hope that doesn't happen. Let's just keep the way things are imo.

chingon, what is your most likely scenario for the die out of the human population? asteroid? disease? war? feel free to note multiple most likely scenarios.
In order:
Asteroid/Comet/Meteorite/Gamma Ray Burst
War (biological, I guess could be disease)
War (Nukes)
Massive Climate change (settle down dax I am not talking about the immediate impacts of global warming)
Really advanced AI (long long time away tho)
