rye on rye, always a treat

Yep.  Got a few for Christmas and cellered them.
I don't have the patience to cellar anything. I had a bottle of Saison Brett for a few months but caved in.
Where did you get that overnight bag?

I normally don't either.  I drank one and stuck the rest down with the rest of the wine collection and will hopefully forget about it.

Brewery in Knoxville, IA 40 miles SE of Des Moines. Do a lot of Belgian varieties. Had the Blonde Fatale and Black River Gumbo last night. Enjoyed both.

The beer could be the only reason, I suspect. For example, years ago, I went to a "school" Coors put on when I was an Aggieville bartender. They thought it was important that we know their product, etc. Had to go to the old Coors distributorship in Junction City for the "school." All we did was get drunk as eff on the free beer they gave us, and learned virtually zip about Coors that we didn't already know. Point? Beer was the only reason I went to Junction City.

Never understood that type of stuff.  Was it in a big pink bottle?  That Rogue bacon maple seems to be pretty popular lately.

I didn't see the bottle but it was interesting smokey almost burnt bacon smell and then I you get the syrup after you swallow it.

you're not supposed to actually drink it moron.  was in portland for a wedding this summer and the rehearsal dinner was at rogue.  someobody bought a bottle of that stuff and opened it up in the private back room we had and it stunk up the whole room.  woof.

Well, I guess because I live down the road from that pizza place and wanted pizza would be the summarization.
