Tried a Breckenridge Vanilla Porter this weekend.  It was pretty good, not a whole lot of taste though, pretty bland.

Odell's Cutthroat Porter was very, very good though.

Also downed a few Red Dogs this weekend.  :drink: :drink: :drink:

And then left the excess at Dlew's house to be polished off by Dlew and Dlew's roommates.

Found a Boulevard Collab #1 from 09.  It's been in a cooler since it was released.  Will it taste like crap or should I try it?

Had one of the first Blvd smokestack ipa bombers in the garage fridge for over two years, wasn't bad when I finally opened it.   Currently have  a quadrupel I received for Christmas I keep forgetting about - something about bombers makes me overlook them or something

I know a dude who has all sorts of beers in his cellar and he regularly breaks out some random/rare/strange bottles and shares them.  I had never had most of them previously but they didn't really taste off.  :dunno:

Hey, SD, the Omaha beerfest was pretty cool.  I'd highly recommend it.  We went on Saturday afternoon so the weather was pretty awesome.  There was  good mix of breweries that I've heard of like Rogue, Ska, Boulder, etc. to the obscure Ma and Pa Brewers from 30 miles southwest of Lincoln.  The variety and selection was very good.  The only somewhat frustrating thing about the event were the beer dorks who would take forever choosing a beer and would hold up the line, but, in general, lines moved pretty fast.  They also had various beer classes, brewing, tasting, styles, etc., taught by the brewers running throughout the fest that I will look into attending if when I go back.

On a side note, we managed to stumble across the street to Liv Lounge (Aksarben Village) afterwards for a couple pretty awesome Moscow Mules.

... the rest of the evening was a blur.

Sounds elite.  I will have to make sure I get there next time.  The mom and pop brewery from outside of Lincoln is Spiker Ales and they just have one beer, Hopluia.

Yup.  That's it.  It was different if I remember correctly.

Also, lived in Omaha for 3 years and had no idea the craft brewing community was as active as it is in the Omaha and Lincoln area.  You are truly blessed SD.

Yeah, I think they use too green of hops on occasion.  sometimes tastes like I'm drinking grass clippings.  It varies a lot from time to time which I'm sure is pretty standard for such a small brewery.
