Witbier and Trippel are both Belgian styles, no?   :dunno:
Yes. However, they are nothing alike.

A little late but I tried a couple of winter seasonals over the last several weeks and both were fantastic;

Hibernation Ale by Great Divide Brewing Co   &  Winter Solstice Seasonal Ale by Anderson Valley.  If you can still find I highly recommend.

Also had The Beast by Avery Brewing.  $7 for a 12 oz.  but 16.83 ABV.  and the taste was crazy.   Probablly won't buy again but if you have money to burn it would be worth a try.

Have Fade to Black to try this weekend.  Thanks Chingon. :drink:
Fifteen minutes later, when the Kansas locker room opened its doors to the media, the Jayhawks were still crying. Literally, bawling. All of them. I've never seen anything like it, and I've seen devastated college locker rooms -- after losses in the Final Four, the national championship game -- ever

Haha I was tricked  by my subconscious into buying the Beast also. It tastes like concentrated prune juice.

Apparently Elbow (the chocolatier) called Boulevard last year and they were all sold out before he could even get a bottle.  :lol:

Cheesy Mustache QB might make an appearance.

New warning: Don't get in a fight with someone who doesn't even need to bother to buy ink.

Had Alpine Spring last night as well.  I liked it a lot.  Seem early for a spring seasonal, but delicious.

One could also say that beer geeks are pushing the market in a very nice direction.  Chocolate Ale?  Alpine Spring?  crap like that is a direct result of the market clamoring for more, more, more.  I don't mind it.  :dunno:

Just bought two bottles of Boulevard Chocolate Ale today.  The liquor store I went to sold out 12 cases in 14 minutes (limiting 2 bottles per customer).

I hope it's good.

It's ok. Drink a bottle - sell the other on craigslist.

Thought about it.

Two local townies were in line at 8:30am for their daily liquor run.  Had no idea why everyone was waiting in line at the liquor store.   :lol:

That's wrong.  Brewers are a creative type, they brew this crap regardless of the beer fad. I had my first white chocolate beer in 1994.

Maybe so but today I can pick up that type of stuff in any decent liquor store, you couldn't do that in 1994.  Sure, brewers have always tinkered with recipes but today's market has really brought it into the mainstream.
