Sierra Nevada's Celebration Ale is one of my favorite winter brews. I always stare down O'Dell's Isolation Ale before deciding it's too expensive. Can anyone confirm?

Gulden Draak - (Brouwerij Van Steenberge. Ertvelde, Belgium) - ABV 10.5% - 6.75

:fatty:

Hey Saul~
Covered Golden Draak on page 12;

"Does Samuel have anything bad?  My neighbor bought me a 4 pack of Golden Draak Ale for my birthday.  It is incredible.  Very fruity, but not the citrusy type of fruity. This reminded me of dark, red, sweet fruit like a plum.  Not much of a hop flavor since this is a belgian ale and it has a sweet taste to it.  Also doesn't hurt that it's 10.5% alcohol.  I'd highly recommend but I bet it isn't the cheapest. "

Also, had a Bornem Triple Abbey Ale last night.  It was also very good.  9%abv.

Fifteen minutes later, when the Kansas locker room opened its doors to the media, the Jayhawks were still crying. Literally, bawling. All of them. I've never seen anything like it, and I've seen devastated college locker rooms -- after losses in the Final Four, the national championship game -- ever

the O'Dell's IA is pretty good.

this crap right here, it's worth its weight in gold.  i love it.
This year's label is nice.

my favorite was the breckenridge christmas ale.  these two bottles below, i drank a lot of them (the '94 on the left and the '95 on the right).  we brought back bottles of the 94 with us from denver, they weren't selling it in KS yet.  it wasn't until 12th St Pub opened that Breckenridge was sold in KS, we put it on tap with uber elite ceramic lightning bolt tap handles.  as you can see, they used to only sell it in elite 750ml bottles

also love the anchor merry christmas, tastes like a pine cone in a bottle!!!

also love the Delerium Noel, very different.

Cheesy Mustache QB might make an appearance.

Enjoying O'Dell's Isolation Ale right now. It may be better than Samuel Adam's Winter Lager.

it was reviewed as one of the top 25 beers of the year. you obviously have no idea what you're talking about.
