AST I need to get on your beershare.

Beershare?  You have used a word that I am not for sure what you mean and now I feel embarrassed and stupid.  Oh lawd, is this what getting old feels like?  I don’t like it.

I have been enjoying Hazy Pale Ales and IPAs lately. I don't know what makes them hazy and more delicious, but whatevs. Sweetwater just came out with one that is great.

Honestly it's going to be hard to go wrong. So many breweries here and I don't I've ever walked out of one ever saying "I'll never go there again". Ok, so I did say that after going to Pitchers on our "hit 'em all" bicycle brewery tour last fall. Go there if you like shitty beer and carpet from the 80's. But other than that pick some that look interesting and go there.

Here are some of my favorites:

If you're adventurous go to Purpose. Lotta beers that make you say "WTF" when you read the ingredients but they all seem to work. Peter was the head brewer at NBB and then decided to head out on his own (you'll notice a lot of breweries here are like that). Hit up Zwei for amazing German beers (their pilsner is what I crave every time it gets hot). Jessup Farm is another favorite. Never had a bad beer there and their Tequila Train Delay is one of my favorites. Horse & Dragon, Funkwerks, and Snowbank are all really, really good.

If you want to just try a lot of amazing beers without having to travel very far stop at the Tap & Handle and/or the Mayor - their beer lists would rival the best in the world.

Timnath Beer Works is really good also although technically not in FoCo (but it's pretty much). Same with Soul Squared in Wellington.

Stop by a liquor store (Supermarket is my go-to) and get some Mountains Walking. Absolutely amazing beers that I'd put with Weldwerks. Guarantee you aren't getting them in KS so you can impress your friends.

People need to calm down with amount of lactose they are putting in some beers.  I thought I might die.

A good buddy of mine told me that adding lactose in beers, mainly the hazy ipa, is done because because brewers can not achieve a proper hazy without it.  He has won a gold medal at the GABF so I tend to believe him.  I will never buy a beer with lactose for that reason as well as I have never truly liked a beer that had it added.

Weird. According to their website they are only available in Colorado and the brand is not registered in KS either.

Isn't adding lactose what makes a stout a milk stout and an IPA a milkshake IPA? I think its primary purpose is to sweeten a beer.

Yeah, and per my palate those 2 styles of beers can fall of of a cliff as I have never had one that I would willingly buy again.

Canco Tap and Handle is elite, I went to Zwei as well but man I just couldn’t get into anything they had. They appear to be universally loved by those willing to review on the internets so I am probably an outlier.
