Drinking some Guinness tonight for the first time in about a year.  Not as good as I thought I remembered.
Yeah, it's not that good.  Many, many better stouts out there.

fell in love w/ the dunkelweizen when i was in Deutschland a few years ago.  who makes a decent one here in the states?  i've had Warsteiner but it wasn't the same.

from a towny place in Lincoln/Omaha.  kind of growing to like it.  they are the brewery that owns Lazlos if you are every in the Haymarket area of Lincoln.  kind of smokey (hence the name) but not overly so.

This.  I mean its good compared to most American beer, but compared to having it in Germany it sucks.  Sad thing is, this beer was my first real exposure to beer and its all gone downhill since.

yeah. i first bought it from a trader joes in  la jolla around a year ago and thought the same thing. this was around the time that rab had it on tap. rab has since switched backed to the odells, which is actually my favorite. that modus one is pretty amazing though. pretty unique.

unless you have had the beer in its country of origin you should probably stfu. there is no viable way to maintain the appropriate taste with most pilsners from that region. unless you are talking about belgian style wheat beers, then i a completely agree.
