« on: June 11, 2015, 08:30:41 AM »
my right nose started bleeding on the way to work this morning and won't quit. i've never before had this happen because i'm a relatively normal person. am i dying? what do i do? it won't stop. i figure a bunch of you are weirdos and probably have this happen monthly but i don't and am not equipped to handle it. advice?

Some people think you should lean back, but don't do that - it just causes blood to run down your throat.  :Yuck:

You should pinch your nostrils and lean forward slightly.

I'd tell the doctor about it at your next checkup. Have your blood tested to make sure you don't have liver disease. It's probably nothing, though.

how much longer should you let it go before you seek medical attention? 4 hours? 24 hours?

can you give us an estimate of flow rate (in GPM)?

If it's still bleeding, I'd go to Urgent Care or something.

Stuff half a roll of TP up your nose and then marvel at the glorious blood clot that you pull out later in the day.

here is what i did. got some tp (toilet paper) and kind of rolled it up and then ran it under cold water and then just shoved it up in my nose and tried not to move for fifteen minutes. i think it stopped. what in the world though? i feel like such a loser.

My nose used to do that sometimes when I was like 3 years old.

I also had that happen when I was like 5 or 6.  Found out about allergies.  Boom, managed.

i'm going to work under the assumption that this was some sort of freak like thing and will never ever happen again. being a "nose bleeder" is just too much for me to handle right now.

The multiple nose implication bothers me more than the bleeding, to me honest.

left nose is good. middle nose also appears to be good. although a little crooked on the inside (septum?sp?).

the good part of this?

you can show your cop friends the blood all over you and be like "its not mine, wink"

alternatively you can go with a you should see the other guy but that admits that your nose was bleeding
