Let's talk current style
« on: June 04, 2015, 10:32:45 PM »
In this thread we either talk serious gE fashion or make fun of what kids these days are wearing...i'll start!

So I didn't know that these drop crotch dance pants things are actually a stylish thing these days? Did you? Not a dancer at all but do they really allow you that much more freedom to move?

I mean, if RW can pull them off then they must not be hideous right? I just can't bring myself around to accept them.

this thread is unlicensed

That thread is for real fashion advice, not making fun of fashion. Let's just limit this new thread to making fun of fashion.

Speaking of which, I really hate these skinny ankled sweat pants (not necessarily low crotch) that guys are wearing.

I was expecting this to be a thread about baggy jeans or something else old people complain about.   I was so right.

I notice kids wear a lot more neon now. And they all have the same socks, that go about half way up the calf. Fascinating.

Joggers and athletic wear started being fashionable late last fall. You could totally casual saturday your whole work week in the fashion industry. But, you'd work in the fashion industry. Quite the pickle.

Why, Mrs. G?  When I look at those, I see a solution to a problem.  I may order a pair or two of those.

What is the problem that they are a solution to? Not looking like enough of a douche?

I hate that sweat pants have these wide, loose, floppy bottoms that just flop all over the place when you're jogging or whatever.  What if you want to jump on a bike for a quick ride?  Those wizard sleeves are liable to get caught in the chain/gears and cause serious bodily injury or death.

OK, if you are walking/jogging in a wooded area then these might be slightly acceptable since not very many people would have to look at you.

They do make straight leg sweat pants.

I like flat-bill hats, but keeping the sticker on is a very weird thing to do. Do you walk around with the size sticker still on your pants? I think not.

This thread could very well turn into "Ask ShellShock about X fashion item and he'll tell you the honest, brutal truth."

...could be entertaining  :dunno:

And they make suits made of sweats.

Here's what I am talking about...

what i posted are khakis with elastic cuffs. what you posted just look like sweat pants, and i dig 'em.

in any event, khakis with elastic cuffs exist, and they look really effing stupid.

however, they would have saved me a lot of time french rolling my pants in the 80's.
