DJamer Wally with the scoop!

Quote
Over the course of the last year or more, I've had the pleasure of getting to know both Dalvin Warmack and Elijah Lee quite well. In fact, we still talk from time to time about Blue Springs/KC area high school football or to see how life is going. They're great kids and have been incredibly open with me throughout the recruiting process and thereafter.

Today, I once again had the chance to catch up with Dalvin and I had to ask about the rumors.

While he wouldn't answer yes or no to the transfer question, he readily admitted that it was something that has been on his mind lately but, as of this morning, a decision hasn't been made. He loves his teammates and the students in Manhattan (no doubt about that), but he didn't seem as happy as usual; not quite himself.

Next week, likely Monday or Tuesday, Warmack says he plans to meet with LHC Bill Snyder one-on-one to discuss his future at K-State. After that meeting, we'll likely know if the back-to-back Simone Award winner will stay with the program.

and here come the scalding hot gpc takes!

While i'm sure it's tough to see Lee's success, while Prewitt gets closer as well, i can't help but think if you start to think about a transfer because other's are succeeding quicker, then you don't have the mental toughness LCHBS is seeking

Quote
Total guess here but I think he may be questioning his ability to succeed at this level. It looks like a confidence issue to me. He seemed very tentative in Spring Game. Let's hope he works through it as he certainly has some ability.

This isn't a shot at Warmack or anyone else in particular, but what happened to being willing to compete for a job? With all the transfers in different sports are kids these days so fragile that if they don't succeed the first time out they'd rather quit than compete? Going to be an interesting transition into the real world for a lot of them if that is the case. I'm sure a lot of it has to do with growing up being told all the time how great you are. It's sad if this rumor is true because he still has YEARS to compete for and win the job beginning everyday at practice.

This Warmack kid has "Tim Flanders II" written all over him...

Almost good enough for big time D-1 ball, but transfers out to a high level FCS program and runs for 1600+ yds per season.

yeah, better just write him off now as a freshman after 1 spring game, he obviously can't play at this level.

The problem is, one day in Spring Ball Charlie Dickey was smacking his gum too loud and Dalvin didn't hear Bazooka Joe's check until the last second.  So his feet didn't hit the appropriate angle on the chip block.   He was immediately demoted in favor of the walk-on.

TuckNation proclaims it to be a lack of desire and a high level of FP/TC'ness and is euphoric at the prospect of a walk-on supplanting yet another kid who was given a ride straight out of high school by K-State.   If there's anything @tucknation loves is a 5 heart story . . . but cries those tears when team #fiveheart gets ripped by #teamstud from Baylor and TCU.

I honestly think (no inside info here) that this is more about how good Alex Barnes could be than anything the situation says about Warmack.

Barnes has all of the tools to be a very good Big 12 back.  He will probably be 6'0" 225-230 for most of his time here. Warmack just can't compete with that.
