I don't really like dill. I do like bread and butter and sweet. Does this make me a bad person?
I don't think it's that big of a dill.

made midwestern'er cuban sandwiches last night. delissuo smoked ham, swiss, spicy mustard, sara lee wheat bread, chopped up clausen spears. throw all that together and then smash it down on the pan while it heats up. pretty great.

is refrigerator pickle an synonym of sweet pickle or just a subcategory of sweet pickle?  i'm not very clear on pickle taxonomy, but i know they taste sweet.

anyway, i really like those.  so maybe team_fan (although i like pretty much all other pickles too).  love those pickled carrots that get pickled with jalapenos.

Just remembered I have the Kroger version of these bad boys in my fridge right now:

Yeah I know, Kroger, suck it.  Baller on a budget or something like that.  I was usually eating 2 or more spears in any given pickle session so the halves made more sense from an efficiency standpoint

did you run the numbers though? spears are packed more densely. I'm worried that with halves and wholes you are paying for more juice and less pickle.

i havent run the numbers but its just a feeling.

Please refer to previous comments about the benefits of pickle juice. It may be more valuable than the pickles themselves :Wha:

Oh man.  I never once considered the packing density.  I feel like such a noob.  Time to study some labels!!

tdavermom makes some mean dilly beans (pickled green beans for those not ITK).  They are always the the first empty spot on the family holiday relish tray.

whole and half pickles are pretty gross.  the spears are great.  what a weird deal that is.

You should try the halves sometime.  IMO they halve a better feel than the spear.  Whole pickles are weird and really need to be cut at least once to fully enjoy.

Fried pickles are good when they are in the form of pickle slices, but not when it is a spear.

Agreed.  I have only had fried spears once and it was weird.
