The weird things about lunchacking in Japan:
-nobody knows what you're eating is weird because everything you eat is weird to them.
-nobody thinks your food smells bad or weird because they are all eating fermented veggie hax and sea creature byproducts.
-your phone camera makes a full volume camera sound that you can't disable to discourage pervs and make everyone wonder why your lunch is worthy of a photograph.

Hows microwave jockeying in Japan? like there always a line or no one brings microwavable stuff? OR do they japan the crap out of it and have like 5 microwaves for a 100 person office?

Your ratio is dead on. 2 microwaves for 40 people. Quite the bottleneck (kaizen opportunity)

Most nihonjin eat room temp bento box lunches or cup noodles courtesy of the 99 deg C water dispenser.
