that looks gross. have any of you guys ever made like an entire weeks worth of food on like a sunday afternoon? like make a bunch of chicken and pack different types of ingredients and like rice and veg and whatever or something with it and then you have an entire weeks lunches ready? I may try it.
I work 12 hour shifts (5am to 5pm) for 2 or 3 days at a time and make all my food before hand, as lead janitor at my facility I need to be available at all times.
Typically I will make a big dish(pasta/carnitas/enchiladas/etc) as my main meal or bring some delic meats for sandwiches. The key is to snack on some other delicousness throughout the day. I typically eat the majority of my food at work, will usually eat my main lunch late in the day so I won't need a huge dinner.
Caloric intake on a normal work day looks like this.
5am- Eat a bowl of cereal and chug like 5 cups of coffee on the way to work because, dam, its like 5am.
9am- Snack
11am- Snack
1-2pm- Whatever I brought as my main lunch.
4pm- SNACK!
Here is what ben ji is packing for the next two days.
Top Left- Brazil Nuts as a snack. Co-Workers will flip at how big and delicous they are.
Bottom left- SNACK PARTY! This is typically my 9am snack. Tonight I have packed Broccoli/Carrots/Hard Boiled Eggs/Cheese(Some Mediterranean variety). There are also some blackberries at the very bottom.
Middle Top- Pretzel Rolls. Pro tip- Stick in the microwave for like 10 seconds and they are super warm and amazing.
Middle Bottom- Homemade Kale salad. Dressing is just olive oil and balsamic vinegar, throw some bacon bits and feta cheese in there for some PROTIEN. Pro Tip- "Scrunch" the kale after you wash it, like squeeze it and rip it for about 30 seconds. This will break down the tough outside fibers and soften it up.
Right Side- I was inspired TTHOTUC Salad lunches so I decided to make some for the next two days. Just your standard cobb salad with romaine/mushrooms/tomatoes/green peppers/bacon bits/cheese/hard boiled eggs/grilled chicken. Of course I will top it with ranch dressing because I am a white Midwesterner.
