Coach Cal is one of the top 10 best humans ever probably.
Can't help but like the guy. Easily the best coach in college today.

Question for the board: How are the Kentucky Wildcat fans? Classy? Knowledgable? Best in the country?
TIA.

Awesome team, top to bottom. Best ever whether they win the tourney or not?

every fanbase has their sour grapes, UK is no different.  From the UK fans I have encountered, they are very knowledgable, intelligent, and generally embody the attitude of coach cal, grateful, appreciative, and have a great understanding of the history of the game.  honestly its kind of refreshing when i interact with them.

Do they speak often about Adolph Rupp and Joe B. Hall?

Why would they need to?  4 of the last 5 years they have gone to the Final Four, like I said, they are very knowledgable and understand how CBB works.

Just wondering. Rupp and Hall were both implicated in, let's say, troublesome circumstances, especially Rupp. You can look it up. UK has a definitely checkered history.

That said, this UK team is simply amazing.

Rupp and Hall are not of the integrity that Coach Cal embodies, not even close.

Calipari is such a genuine mentor and class act, he is undoing a lot of the bad from Rupp.

This isn't even the best Kentucky team of all time. The 96 team had 11 NBA players and would beat this year's team.

Different era of college hoops. The teams they had to go up against were much better than the pud teams playing today.

that win/loss column doesn't lie. it's just incredible watching them make history with each game that passes.

This Kentucky team really demonstrating why the Wildcats will always have a seat at the table of Bluebloods alongside UCLA, North Carolina, Duke, and Indiana.

If by Indiana you mean Connecticut then yes I would have to agree.

Dumbass alert

The 20th best team of today would smoke the best team of 10 years ago. Athletes are bigger, stronger, and more talented.

I can't tell if you're serious or just gE'ing. The early 90s Duke and late 90s UK teams would destroy today's teams filled with 1 and done players. 21 or 22 year olds vs. freshmen is a huge difference.

I think it's hard to compare wins and losses of teams in college basketball. As an extreme example, if Kentucky actually plays better defense on the final possession, doesn't allow ND to cross half court, and ND throws up a prayer and it goes in, this Kentucky team doesn't go undefeated and doesn't go down in history. But since that obviously didn't happen, this team will probably go down as the best college team of all time. All it takes is small percentage shot going in to change history.

I generally agree, but the 96 UK denim Dans vs this UK team would be a great game. It would be a great seven-game series. This UK team does have some experience, and their sheer size would pose problems for any college team ever. It's just hard to match up with 7-0, 7-0, 6-11, 6-10 up front.

This UK team might also have 11 pros, and could easily have as many players that turn out solid pro careers. Lastly, the 96 UK team was well into the era of players jumping early or skipping college altogether.

This UK team is worthy of every bit of adoration that comes their way.
