oklahoma is a cess pool of racism. it comes largely from the small towns. i was in a fraternity in the state of oklahoma for a couple years and there were members who actively pushed for not recruiting any black guys. i got in a few shouting matches about it, one nearly came to punches.

I can tell you, that when I was at a frat party my sophomore year and I was there with my friend (black), that we had an experience for the ages. I was talking to this sorority girl all night (she was from Texas) and when we were about to leave together she whispered in my ear: "Why are you friends with that *****?!". I  instantly dropped her and left with my buddy. It's out there.

i think it's just safe to assume that 90% ou students are horrible racists.

This is what I gathered.   SAE nationals needs to be a bit less "shocked" though.  I'd bet most of them knew this song existed in one form or another.

Supposedly SAE nationals is the one actually teaching this chant. So, yeah.

I’d pretty much guarantee its a song/limerick that is almost as old as the fraternity itself and still gets used at ALL the SAE chapters throughout the south, especially at SEC schools.  Not necessarily "taught by SAE nationals", but I'm sure most of the higher ups know about it &/or participated in it at some point.

We had fraternity songs back in the day that while not racist, were certainly demeaning to women that got sung from time to time and were not on the "approved list" by the national headquarters.

“Effective immediately, all ties and affiliations between this University and the local SAE are hereby severed. I direct that the house be closed and that members will remove their personal belongings from the house by midnight tomorrow. Those needing to make special arrangements for positions shall contact the Dean of Students,” Boren stated.

also from their national org,

Quote
"We apologize for the unacceptable and racist behavior of the individuals in the video, and we are disgusted that any member would act in such a way. Furthermore, we are embarrassed by this video and offer our empathy not only to anyone outside the organization who is offended but also to our brothers who come from a wide range of backgrounds, cultures and ethnicities."

The only SAE I knew was a coworker who also graduated from KState and didn't seem overtly racist.  However, I do remember driving a group of us back from the bars in Wichita and having to get gas.  At the gas station we noticed a couple of young black women also getting gas.  Couple of people in the car started to chat them up and the SAE guy leans in an whispers "What are you guys doing they're black"   At the time I thought it was just really hayseedy behavior, it was kinda a rough part of town, maybe he just didn't want us talking to anyone?  But, in hindsight, I guess it must just have been an SAE racist thing.
