I'm always so intrigued when _FAN starts a thread on the combo-fanning board. Spoiler alert: Just as dorky as the threads he starts on the sports boards.

Hey!

Also, I still think this is truly interesting. Each view really believes they are seeing what they think they are seeing. And each view is probably "right" by some really weird quirk of how are brains and eyes process the information.

That's a cop out. If you use photoshop and sampling to get pieces of the image, you can see white and gold. You really can't see blue and black. At least you can't see shades of blue and black remotely close to the actual color of the dress.

Maybe on opposite day

You will realize it's blue when you look at the black and white fabric in bottom left hand corner.

You son of a gun.  I stared at the bottom left corner for about 5-10 seconds and the white just kind of morphed into blue and the gold darkens to a faded black.  If i scroll to the top of the dress it goes right back to white and gold tho.

i think if you look at the bottom first, it appears blue/black. but if you look at the top first it's white/gold.

so either your eyes went right towards the bum, or your monitor needs re-calibrated.
breast people see white and gold...leg and ass people see blue and black?
Interesting.

I see white and gold and noticed that nobody is actually wearing the dress in the picture.

We have minds that are allowing us to perceive the true colors.  What's impressive is that white/gold people are able to raise children and hold steady jobs.

Orrr. . you have minds that don't allow you to see what is plainly in front of your eyes. It is the light or the picture quality affecting the photo's colors, but it is obviously white and gold with no context.

1. The dress looks blue/black to me

2. Turns out the dress is in fact blue/black

3. Hahaha, in your face

You look at:

And see blue and black?

I can take a shitty picture and something that looks one way can look another way. I understand that it is a black and blue dress, but in this photo it looks white and gold. Obviously they should have hired a professional photographer to make sure that the photo wouldn't be deceiving AF.

Yes.  I especially don't know how you don't see the blue tint to what you think is "white".
Ummm. Wait a minute. If you see black and blue, how do you know there should be a blue tint on the portion that is white for people that see gold and white?

Dangit Spracne, is this another one of your clever posts?

Brown and light blue from the center image. I think most people are seeing a shadow over the top of the dress, though, and equating the brown and light blue to gold and white.

Brown & light blue seem closer to black & blue than gold & white to me.

The light blue is a whole lot closer to white than the actual dark blue color of the dress, and the brown is a lot closer to gold than black.

Good to know it's only the people with poor hearing that hear laurel.

It's sad that some good people are handicapped by their ability to only hear a teeny tiny spectrum of frequencies.
