Embarrassing Inbound Plays
« on: February 24, 2015, 12:53:25 PM »
I've never witnessed such embarrassment when we were inbounding the ball last night. We literally just sent a guy back behind half court before the inbounder even touched the ball. Like, WTF? I know it's been talked about before, but I've never facepalmed so hard when I realized that's what we have resorted too.

It seemed like we were much better inbounding last night. :dunno:

It was a quantum leap forward. Still not that pleasing from a purely aesthetic standpoint.

I liked that one that was an alley-oop to foster and he slammed it off the backboard and in.

I think what my friend Mitch is trying to say is that true love is blind.

For some reason I cannot understand, KU did not deny the ball on inbounds.  Instead, they sagged off Gibson (when we put him in the corner) and allowed us an easy entrance to either Gibson or the guy 60 feet upcourt.  I guess that alley-up to Foster really got KU scared the rest of the game.  (We, apparently, have been saving that play for 4 months.)

I don't know. I guess it looked better because it's hard not to. But when our default set is sending a guy 50 feet away from the ball, something is wrong. It just looked really really stupid

We got the ball in with no problem, which seemed like a good idea considering what we've done much of the season.

I thought that the safety guy deep was a decent idea. If somebody takes themselves out of the play to go guard him, maybe it is easier to get the ball in bounds near the basket? At least it made sense to me.
