I was going to post about BYU's bad spot, by its not as bad as I thought. They have a decent set of games scheduled the next 4 seasons. They won't ever play in a CFP bowl, but their bowl set ups in Miami and San Diego aren't bad spots. They still get to play regional schools like Boise, UNLV, Nevada, and Utah State while usually throwing in 2 of Utah, Arizona, Cal or another PAC team (have future agreements with USC, Stanford, and Arizona St). They're perfect for teams from conferences with 9 games who need a decent "name" school that can put them on ESPN for the return game. They also have future series scheduled with Wisconsin, Hawaii, UConn, UCF, and ECU.
BYU doesn't need the Big12, unless they think they'll earn the Sugar Bowl bid every 4-5 years. The way their scheduling is going, they'll easily be able set up schedules of 2-3 PAC, 4-5 MW, 1-2 BigTen/Big12, 1-2 AAC, and 2-3 CUSA/SunBelt/MAC teams. That's not a bad set up and better for them than the Big12, especially for a school that wants to play regional schools and throw in a couple givemes like MTSU.
