Not sure I really want BYU. I just think they won't be happy here long. If they join the Big 12 it's purely for revenue dollars. The extra exposure really isn't going to help them given their strict adherence to Mormon traditions. Not that this isn't respectable, it just clashes culturally with what a lot of athletes are expecting out of a college experience. So they are not going to magically convert a number of high profile Texas high school prospects that suddenly change their football program. I think their success in the Big will be fairly limited. Also travel is more a disadvantage to BYU than it is an advantage to them (other schools having to travel to Utah). My gut tells me they would last about 7 - 10 years in this league.
Also, it's not like Utah is a recruiting hot bed, and playing in Provo doesn't gain you any exposure in California. So, I'm not sure BYU makes as much since for the league as L'ville and Cincy. I think we're better off securing those two and making a legit push for ND. And when we don;t get ND we settle for Houston. I just think expanding the footprint east to include Kentucky/Ohio/Indiana(long shot) is much more viable.
If a Big 12 network (similar to the SEC network picked up by local cable affiliates) is ever going to happen going East brings much more value than BYU.
