So tell me why Congress couldn't step in and make the super conferences expand to the point where there aren't any teams from the current BCS leagues left out? To me that makes sense, you can't just go and screw five teams like never before and expect no ramifications.  And even if that happens I still don't see how out of this list (TCU, BYU, Cincy, Baylor, ISU, S. Florida, KSU and KU) where three will get in, how we won't make the cut. You are all panicking without really thinking. Does anyone really think the big 10 or SEC won't go to 16 like the other conferences will?

I don't think the Big 10 makes any moves unless ND decides to move which I would say is very unlikely so they will stay at 12 for now.  The SEC will add at least 1 maybe 3 more.  The ACC will add 2 more.  Unless the Pac wants to be the PAC 20 they are done at 16.  That leaves 3 - 5 spots left.

I'm guessing the ACC takes 2 more Big East teams and then SEC picks between MU and WVU.  That leaves

We will have our new Big 12 once the SEC and ACC pick their 3 teams.

My personal feeling, and it's not just because it would benefit us, is that I think the Pac-16 should simply become the Pac-18 and essentially own the entire western half of the US.

Add Texas, Tech, KU, KSU, OU, and OSU.  Put us in the same division as the Arizona schools and Utah or Colorado.  Eight conference games.  Winners play championship game in a rotation between Rose Bowl and Jerrydome.  Or you can have three six team pods.  Who knows?  Who cares?

I mean, hey, why not?  It cuts down on travel, gets them six schools in the Central Time Zone, and Texas has a bigger entourage.

That makes every bit as much sense as what's going on right now.

TV dollars makes it not work. It could but I think we are back doing this in 5 years when the Cal schools hate the smell of cow crap from the feed lot.

Yeah. Honestly no conference had a reason to go to 16 and the Big 12 didn't have a reason to implode. This isn't being driven by just money and common sense. It's a race to 16 and who can field the best 16.

The current House is so dysfunctional, it's only passed like a handful of laws this year. It couldn't act on something with so many moving parts and interests.
