I think it is something that we would have had to satisfy like 100 yrs ago when the AAU first started. I think all members have to approve any new members and they have already said they like their membership as is.

So it seems to be a club that you have no chance of getting into at this point.

Nubb gives a lot of people an in at this point. big 10 now has a member that isn't AAU thanks to Nubb.

So if the 9 decide to stick together I think they waive their legal rights only if A&M agrees to pay to leave. Let's say the fAggies pay $20 mil. How much of that $20 mil should the Big 12 offer up to a potential 10th member?

Also, should this thing hold together, does all the drama make Big 12 games more intense enough to drive up the value of a Tier 1 TV deal when it's time to re negotiate?

I've heard other people claim that the AAU generally disregards agricultural research dollars, but idk. Wouldn't be surprised if the 2025 initiative eventually raises some eyebrows at the AAU, but that is a long ways away.

Kansas State, Kansas and Iowa State also want to retain their right to sue, the administrator said.

Texas, Texas Tech, Oklahoma State and Missouri have apparently retained their right to sue but have vowed they won't take any action against the SEC, the administrator said.

The only Big 12 school willing to sign a waiver releasing the SEC from litigation appears to be Oklahoma, which has indicated it might soon be ready to bolt for the Pac-12, the administrator said.

A statement summarizing a noon conference call with Big 12 presidents should be forthcoming shortly, the source said.
