tough situ for him.

should probably transfer.  he's not looking at any real time until his sr. year.  his other option would be to redshirt and hope for significant time as a jr & sr.  not many coaches rs non freshmen (or really even freshmen), but self is starting to develop a tradition with it, so it's probably a legit option.

I could actually see Johnson starting next season alongside Selby and Taylor.

that'd be a really small lineup.  and hard to imagine that self is suddenly going to leave morningstar and reed on the bench.  not to mention, wasn't releford supposed to be tearing practice apart?

Reed and Morningstar came off the bench last year.  I don't see Releford starting, either.

What about Little? Did he just throw away a year of his life?
Johnson needs to talk to Lon.

discussion is re. minutes.  no one cares who starts.  johnson was behind taylor, reed and morningstar last year.  why would that change?

Players tend to improve quite a bit from their freshman to sophomore years.  Reed and Morningstar have always been role players for KU... why would that change?

players tend to improve every year...  pullen from soph to jr was a bigger improvement than from freshman to soph.

reed and morningstar could still be role players.  and johnson would still be behind them (and taylor & selby).

All I know is that KU has tons of depth once again.  Johnson is going to be a stud for KU... it's just a matter of when.

no crap, that's the whole point of this thread.
either that, transfer, or spend his career on the bench.  either of the latter two seems more likely.

Self typically plays five guards.  I just think Johnson is capable of beating out Morningstar and breaking into the rotation.

Self plays five guards? This year, he said he wanted to trim the rotation to seven or eight and did just that with four guards playing. Unless you count zah vee aa as a guard.
All that vaulted depth doesn't do squat for you if it's sitting on the bench.

Quit trying to argue just for the sake of arguing.  Self typically plays five perimeter players.  Also, you're wrong about depth.  Good depth provides tons of competition in practice and helps players improve throughout the season.

Hopefully you don't. That'd spell big time trouble for KU. Releford blows.

Bob Davis stated during post game of the UNI loss that he was at practice earlier in the week and Releford and Little were "the best players on the court."  Straight from the horse's mouth folks.  Releford and Little are going to be STUDS!!

Releford should have transferred this year and Self should have advised him to do so.  Instead he let Travis waste his RS year sitting on his ass and practicing for a team he'll never play for.  Look for Travis to transfer to Alabama this summer.

As for Little.  Self never wanted him or planned on him contributing. He just didn't want him in Manhattan.  Little may play some mop up and spots here an there but his time in Lawrence is going to be a waste and he'll do some barnstorming and then probably Europe or South America. Self should be ashamed.

I loved Aldrich's step back threes this year. They were killer.

Also, does Robinson transfer then??  Whithey? :ohno:

Releford is every bit as good as Rodney McGruder, if not better.

JFC, ku could have really used him in that second round loss to University of Northern Iowa.

Wasn't KU's scout team good enough to make the final 4 last year? Selby will be lucky if he sees the court at all. Probably just wants to go to KU to molest chicks in elevators for a year before the pros.
